Tyler Chin is a recent graduate of Boston University. With a focus on magazine journalism, Tyler has experience with writing and editing at publications such as Men’s Health, The BU Buzz, and The Rival.

Tyler has held a number of editorial positions during his time at Boston University. In sophomore year, Tyler was a writer for The BU Buzz, Boston University’s lifestyle magazine. He continued working for The BU Buzz up into his junior year, when he also started writing for his school’s chapter of The Rival, a student-run online publication dedicated to entertaining and informing students about news that is relevant to them. In his second semester of working for The Rival, Tyler became an editor. As editor, Tyler helped his team of four writers with potential stories that he would later edit and publish.

Between the summer of junior and senior year, Tyler was hired as an editorial intern through the American Society of Magazine Editor’s internship program where he worked at Men’s Health. Tyler wrote articles for the website and helped to develop the MH Rec Room series, videos that were published daily with accompanying articles. He also worked on research for the print magazine and wrote an article, which was picked up by various news sites, on his interview with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau from the HBO series Game of Thrones.

In his final year at college, Tyler remained active in campus media. He joined the editorial team of his school’s fashion and culture magazine Off The Cuff. as a copy editor. Tyler hopes to work in the magazine industry. He is particularly interested in fashion, culture, travel, and food. He hopes to one day join the editorial team of some of his favorite publications such as Esquire, GQ, The New Yorker, New York magazine, and more.
